Booking Terms

Arrival and Departure times:
Arrival – we shall be happy to greet you any time between 4.30 and 5.30 p.m. If you are going to be earlier or later than this, please ring us so we can arrange to greet you properly.
Departure - we ask that rooms are normally vacated by 10.00 am on your last day (Sundays 10.30 am) so that we can have time to make the rooms ready for new guests arriving.

Minimum deposits:
Please note the minimum deposit is the price of the first night's stay.  This deposit is non-refundable.

Payment of your account - Cash, Credit and Debit Card or by Cheque.
Please make your cheque payable to “Old Rectory Howick”.
Charges for Credit cards:  please note that there will be a surcharge of 1.5% for Credit Card transactions. There is no charge for a debit card transaction.

Cancellation Policy: In the event of a cancellation less than 3 days before arrival, the cost of the first night is required, however all efforts will be made to re-book the room and the money refunded. Deposits are non-refundable in any circumstance. We recommend you use holiday insurance. (See cancellation insurance at bottom)

Special Diets:
We can usually accommodate special diets with a little help and advance notice from you. Prescription foodstuffs such as gluten free bread should be brought with you if possible.

No Smoking:
To comply with the law and in consideration to all of our guests the whole house is non-smoking

Damages:  We have to make a charge equal to the cost to us for any damages caused by our guests.


Cancellation Insurance:
We would recommend that you consider taking out holiday insurance to cover the period of your holiday/booking; this safeguards both yourself and us in the event you are unable to take up your booking. We have linked to cancellation Insurance below for your convenience.
